Mast Stepping- Unstepping

For our customers with Mast heights taller than 56 feet it will be necessary to unstep your mast prior to coming to Indiantown Marina. The lowest Bridge is 54 feet at high tide. There is two foot of tide, which will give you 56 feet of clearance at low tide.

The best place to have your mast unstepped, coming back from the Bahamas, is at Cracker Boy Boat Works in Riviera Beach, FL. They are located off the Intracoastal Waterway, with easy access from the Lake Worth Inlet. They are nearest the Intracoastal Waterway marker R(43) just north of the Port of Palm Beach and south of Riviera Beach City Marina.

They charge $250.00 an hour to unstep/step Masts and it usually takes a half an hour mininum. So you are looking at $125.00 min. to unstep/step your mast at Cracker Boy Boat Works.

Phil, the Yard Manager at Cracker Boat, recommends to perform the Mast unstep/step at slack low tide with no rain or high winds.
